I can be kind AND have boundaries.

Hey there,

I've been wrestling with a question lately:

At what point am I allowed to be tired of being nice? 😅

I know...’who said I’m nice?’ Ha!

But if I can be real...

My faith teaches me to consider others more and not make everything about myself.

I believe that.

But does that mean every time someone asks something of me, I'm supposed to rearrange things to accommodate them?

Especially when what they're asking isn't really a need—it's just more convenient for them?

Because... hold on now. 😂

I think I've been confusing kindness with accommodation.

Being kind doesn't mean I have to say yes.

Considering someone else's needs doesn't mean ignoring my own.

And helping someone doesn't require me to repeatedly inconvenience myself just so they don't have to inconvenience themselves.

That's not kindness. That's imbalance.

And eventually, imbalance turns into resentment.

Nobody wants that.

So I'm learning that sometimes the kindest answer—for everybody involved—is:

"I can't do that today."

No five-paragraph explanation.

No guilt spiral.

No rearranging the planets afterward trying to make it work anyway.

Just a boundary.

Apparently, peace has those too.

💬 If you're learning how to extend some of that compassion back toward yourself, my 7-Day Self-Compassion Reset might be a good companion.
