Run your race — they’re not even going where you’re going.

Hey there,
Let’s have a quick chat about something sneaky… and kinda toxic:
Comparison.

It shows up like a whisper:

“She’s doing better than you.”
“You should be further along by now.”
“Look at how easy it looks for them…”

And suddenly, instead of rooting for yourself, you’re spiraling.
Not because you’re doing poorly — but because someone else’s highlight reel made you question your own timeline.

Let me say it loud for the people in the back:

Comparison is a thief. A ruthless one.
She’ll rob you of joy, momentum, confidence — and leave you sitting in a puddle of “what ifs” that don’t even belong to you.

But here’s what she won’t tell you:
They’re not even running the same race.
And honestly?
Some of them aren’t even going where you’re going.

So here’s your permission to stay in your lane:

  • Measure your growth against who you used to be

  • Celebrate your slow progress — it’s still progress

  • Honor your pace, your process, your path

You’re doing better than you think. And baby? You’re not behind — you’re being prepared.

📝 A Note from My Journal:
Comparison used to eat me alive — not because I wasn’t doing enough, but because I stopped noticing what I was doing.
Now? I remind myself daily:
The only person I need to beat is who I was yesterday.
Because when I focus on my race, I always win.

Later,
Kimberley
Proud lane-stayer. Recovering over-comparer. Still winning.
