When staying informed starts stealing your peace.

Hey there,
Is it just me, or does it sometimes feel like everything is under attack?
You open your phone and there's another recall.
Another scam.
Another data breach.
Another warning about something you've been eating, buying, clicking, or using for years.
Even AI—which I love—has people out here finding brand-new and creative ways to scam folks.
Like... CAN WE REST?! 😂
Some of us are just quietly trying to mind our business but now we have to learn how to bake our own bread.
But I've noticed what all that information does to me.
After a while, I start wondering:
Where exactly is the safe space?
Because staying informed is one thing.
Feeling like I need to be on high alert every waking minute is another.
And I don't want fear running my life disguised as "being prepared."
I can check the recall.
Change the password.
Read the label.
Ask questions.
Take reasonable precautions.
And then?
I have to trust God and go live my life.
Maybe that's part of being Calm & Collected too.
Not pretending nothing bad happens.
Not ignoring information we genuinely need.
But learning when we've gathered enough information to make a reasonable decision—and then giving ourselves permission to put the phone down.
We cannot eliminate every risk.
But we can decide that worry doesn't get unlimited access to us.
Sometimes creating a safe space looks very ordinary:
Close the app.
Step away from the headlines.
Make some tea.
Call somebody you love.
Sit somewhere quiet.
Journal.
And remind your nervous system:
Right here. Right now. I'm okay.
That's enough for this moment.
💬 If your brain could use somewhere quieter to land, my Pause, Reflect, Go Journal and 30 Prompts for Inner Calm were created for moments exactly like this.
